SCC Logistics Group's "Green & Smart Logistics" Strategy: Toward Sustainable Development

2024.11.08

Through green logistics practices, SCC Group is committed to reducing carbon emissions and achieving harmonious development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.

In today's world facing sustainable development challenges, SCC Logistics Group, as a pioneer in the logistics industry, continues to implement its "Green & Smart Logistics" strategic plan. This plan not only reflects the Group's commitment to environmental protection but also embodies our profound understanding of the balanced development among the economy, society, and the environment.

With the advancement of globalization, the logistics industry has undergone a transformation from manual operations to mechanization. Technological innovation and the development of efficient logistics systems have brought significant benefits to economic and social progress. However, the substantial carbon dioxide emissions generated throughout logistics operation cycles cannot be overlooked. SCC Logistics Group has integrated the "Green & Smart Logistics" concept into its corporate strategy, aiming to achieve harmonious development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.

Globally, 8-10% of carbon dioxide emissions are generated by logistics processes. Therefore, green logistics can achieve environmental benefits by reducing total carbon dioxide emissions throughout logistics processes. Our "Green & Smart Logistics" strategic plan includes the following five key elements:

1. Eco-Driving: Reducing the environmental impact of logistics transportation at the driving level, including route selection, vehicle choice, refueling, basic maintenance, and driving behavior. We plan to use GPS and cloud technology to optimize routes, improve fuel efficiency, reduce idling and congestion, and enhance road safety.

2. Improving Transport Load Factor: Enhancing the utilization and efficiency of transport vehicles and reducing the number of empty trips. We will optimize logistics models and dispatch processes to maximize transport load factors.

3. Adopting Alternative Fuels: Promoting new energy vehicles and alternative fuels, such as electric vehicles, hydrocarbon fuels, and biofuels, to reduce pollution and work toward achieving future carbon neutrality.

4. Modal Shift: Transitioning from transport modes with negative environmental impacts to more environmentally friendly modes, considering the trade-off between environmental benefits and service quality.

5. Designing Logistics Systems: Optimizing logistics services by using intelligent algorithms to identify optimal transportation routes and distances, thereby reducing environmental impact. We will select centralized or decentralized logistics systems based on geographical location and efficiency considerations.

SCC Logistics Group firmly believes that by implementing the "Green & Smart Logistics" strategy, we can not only achieve cost savings but also reduce environmental risks and realize sustainable development. As service automation advances, green logistics will play an even greater role in balancing economic, social, and environmental development. Reducing waste, conserving energy, and lowering costs are improvement principles for the entire logistics industry, which will make green logistics development more compliant with environmental regulations and more sustainable.

At the same time, incentives from governments and public institutions for green logistics are also crucial. GLP is part of low-carbon products and services, and governments should provide more incentives to accelerate the realization of future carbon neutrality. SCC Logistics Group looks forward to collaborating with governments and industry partners to jointly promote the development of low-carbon products and services, contributing to the global goal of achieving carbon neutrality.
